A short and easy day for once. I enjoyed the hut and left late to walk this short day. The trail continues down the valley from the previous day and follows a 4WD track involving numerous crossing of the river. The valley then widens up and showed the view of the near mountains. After crossing another big river the trail follows a gravel road down to the harper village. I had to be careful on the last bit because of the big trucks passing by. I got to the campsite very early but couldn’t carry on because you can’t camp on the next 28 kilometres and you can’t camp at Lake Coleridge. So I rested and had a swim in the river. I pitched my tent in the high wind but it somehow survived the night.
