TA day 6 Ahipara to Raetea forest

36 km total 136 km (+4km to resupply) 7h30 total 33h Today is my first roadwalk day. This means that I won’t walk on a tramping track (NZ for hiking) but rather on the shoulder of the road. This is because the Herekino forest is closed and so there is a detour to walk on the road. With cars driving at up to a hundred of kilometers an hour you have to be very aware and careful. Then you add the big trucks together with the showers of rain (really off-on-off in a matter of ten minutes) The first bit to Kaitaia was ok and I resupplied there but the afternoon was long and really boring. No music to listen to because of the cars and the road is flat and not so various… It almost remember me of the beach. Anyway the last bit went up to the campsite and I am looking forward to my first kiwi bush walk tomorrow.
