Lazy start in what would be a long day. After a warm up on a gravel road the Burton’s track start in thick bush for 3 hours of tramping including some river crossings. I am feeling great and soon I stop for lunch at the shelter at the end of the track. After waiting a bit for another tramper. I decided to carry on as a still needed one day of walk to the camp site. After some road walk the second track starts up to at viewpoint. The trail is really nice but demanding and ends with lots of stream crossing and through paddocks. After a short road section I arrive at the outdoor center and had my last shower before the Tararuas.
