Nice start! After crossing the longest footbridge from the south emisphere (used by the children to get to school). The trail goes on the Whananaki coastal track. And there were stunning views from there. Together with the fantastic weather I really appreciated today’s hike. After a good break at the Matapouri Diary I went up to the next track called Matapouri bush track. It was a nice walk through the forest going next to the magnificent Tane Moana (giant Kauri tree). Finally I hiked down the road where a good beer was waiting for me. I am now resting on this nice Nikau Bay with a fantastic view and atmosphere. I want more days like these.
