Finally some easy day again after the Tongariro crossing. I started around 9 and got on the trail heading west. The weather was clear and so were the views. The volcano landscape made a nice panorama. A few hours and puddles later I arrived to the my lunch spot right before the state highway. Time to switch to the road walk sandals. The almost two hours of road walk were nice and the shoulder nice to walk on. I finally got to National Park village and got a thick shake and a steak and salad at the cafe. I then bought some more food and took a bed at a backpacker lodge. Time then for some fresh food at the bar. Nice day.
